In 2004, we started our first seminar on freeze-drying in the Department of Pharmaceutics, University of Erlangen. The great success and positive feedback of the attendees during this initial seminar gave us, the Freeze Drying Focus Group, motivation to continue with a seminar in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. We are now planning for our sixth seminar in 2010 which will be held on Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19 2010. We started our first seminar in 2004, and until today this seminar (series) is well known as:
Freeze Drying in Practice: The Erlangen Seminar
When we first brought up the idea of such a seminar it was our goal to bring interested people from academia, pharmaceutical industry and vendors / suppliers of equipment together for 1-2 days to facilitate and support discussions (on a sound scientific basis) on the different aspects of the freeze-drying science. In addition, we are keen on providing an update on the latest research and technology in the freeze-drying world. From the very beginning it was important to us to keep the seminar expenses for the participants moderate and therefore to allow more people at different working positions to attend. We still try to keep the number of participants low to facilitate and support discussions between speakers and attendees.
Until today, all talks of the Erlangen Seminar were given in the German language. We will also follow this tradition in 2010. However, at some point in the future we are going to plan for a separate seminar to be held in English since we want to enable more people from outside of Germany, Austria and Switzerland to attend!
November 2009: The agenda (version 3.0) and the registration form of the Erlangen Seminar 2010 is now ready for download. The seminar is limited to 45 participants and fills up very quickly! Fill out the registration form today and send it over to us by email (lyo@pharmtech.uni-erlangen.de) or fax (09131-85-29545)…
